Just had a customer w 2 bad remotes, one freezing, and the other white screen I think. I had him do the ole power switch on the back and it seemed to work for now?? Any ideas on why that would fix it, I'm sure its just a temp fix right?

Yep
Seen this a few times and so has RTI
Send it back and they should fix it for free
The white screen and freezing is a known issue

I have had a couple that required a switch to be flipped. One required that the battery be disconnected. (complete discharge might have worked but i didn't think to have the client try it) Since the battery wire is small i dont ask the clients to try it themselves.

I have also had 1 'white screen' on me and i sent it in for repair. Nothing would fix it, i couldnt connect to it. They sent a new or refurbished one out. It looked new but it wasn't packed new. Didn't matter, worked perfectly.

Of those 3 i havent had any repeat offenders. Fingers crossed.

The worse is when you get one that is flashing a little IC symbol with a red X through it in the corner of the white screen.

I have had about 1 in ten T2C's have an issue in the past, But that seems to have been corrected this last year, as I haven't had any more problems with the model

Sadly I am still swapping out T3's and T2c's that have been sent in for repair and have come back to us. At least with those models and my experience they have not figured it out...

You have to send the unit back and wait 2 to 3 weeks for its return, so if you sell RTI you need to keep a half dozen back ups around. At times even that is not enough.

One T3 backup was enough for me until yesterday - have three defective in the field right now!

Thankfully RTI is repairing for free. Much appreciated!

All need the switch flipped at about 6months of use, hmmm. Thats what I've seen . Still like them better than many other remotes.

We have been installing RTI for the past 3 years and while we LOVE the T2-C design and RTI's design software, the amount of T2-C failures we have has been alarming to say the least. At any given time we have anywhere from 4-8 remotes in for service!
RTI has been great in dealing with these issues and has taken care of every single product we send in for repair but enough is enough!
We are eagerly awaiting the release of the new Touchscreen Remote from Crestron's Prodigy line to see if this will be a good fit for us....
