I had my system working perfectly with one-way. I swapped my T-4 out for a Zigbee version and just got around to setting it up in my theater room. Unfortunately my timing was bad as the new firmware became available...

For some reason, I have absolutely no control over my equipment RS-232 or IR. The only things that work are standalone line in sight IR codes. I have tried every form of troubleshooting, swapped out the ZM-24 in place of another, and set up a simplified control system to see if I could figure out the problem. NOTHING. Not even a drop of recognition from the XP-8. The ZM-24 blinks when a macro is sent, but other than that everything else is completely ignored.

Here is what I did:
- set all checkboxes to firmware > 2.0 (both processor and remote)
- remote is set to output 2-way RF
- Zigbee is enabled on the T-4
- ZM-24 has been reset plenty of times with wall wart and reset button
- T-4 has been power-cycled to recognize zigbee network.
- firmware has been re-insalled (just in case)
- Program on RTI's site to evaluate Zigbee connection run and it says "connected" in top box.
- Called tech support and went through everything..

I don't know what to do at this point - it's as if my XP-8 is screwed up now... I can't roll back the firmware. Not sure what to do at this point. I don't even have any one way remotes laying around. They have insisted there is no roblem with the remote but if not the remote I can't image what the problem would be. This control system was behaving 100% properly before the update. The worst part is that I started programming the system using only one way functionality so I could implement 2-way slowly. But now I can't even send a regular macro.... Anyone have a similiar experience? I have never had my back to the wall as much as I do now...

Thanks in advance for any advice...

PS - I emailed the simple configuration I re-created to tech support. Didn't hear anything back.

Reboot the XP8 with the Zm24 plugged in.

Which firmware did you update too? 2.0/2.1/2.2?

I think I have all of them aroun here somewhere so I can send you a different version and try that.

Andy-

How do I rebot the XP9? Is it just a matter of hitting the reset button? Also, I am using the 2.2 version... Not sure if I ever did the 2.1 or 2.0, but is it possible to downgrade? I think service support said no that one... I really appreciate the help....If you could send those firmware versions I could give that an honest shot..

Thanks, I am going crazy with this.. I don't think I ever hit a brick wall like this before with RTI.. It's not bad equipment but it has to be something with the XP-8 (which worked perfectly before I did the firmware).

Thanks again,
Vincent

If that's the case I already tried that as well... One thing that is strange - the ZRM-24 seems to blink when macros are sent, but has a steady green light most of the time. I think it shold be blnking more rapidly. Both antennas I tried behaved the same way even after resetting. I'm not sure what I could possibly do - it seems like I am at the point of no return now..

Start over on your work bench with just the XP8, 1 antenna, and 1 remote. create a new system file. only use 2 codes- power on and power off for a TV or somthing you know works fine. Do it step by step as per the instructions

You can revert back to old firmware... I did it when the 2.1 was having issues with the sense inputs. I'll see what I have and send them off to you.

Do what RTI Installer suggested...

Can't you just Winzip the file?

I have them zipped two ways, one with WinZip and the other zipped as it comes from RTI. Neither will go through!

I do't think its a firmware issue anyway... I've got 2.2 running smoothly on three different systems.

I agree with RTI Installer
Start over with everything unhooked and create a basic file.
One step at a time. The problem will surface very quick that way and you will ultimately save time.

Sorry guys, I should have mentioned that making a simplistic file from scratch was basically my first step once I started the troubleshooting process.. I have a very simple one macro configuration with all the settings perfect....No response from the processor.

When running the zigbee test page you have "connected" on top but no numbers counting up below the connected box?

Is your Cat5 cable between the ZM24 and XP8 a known good cable?

Make sure you move the ZM24 WAY away from any WAPs in the area... as a matter of fact, just for shits-and-giggles, unplug your WAP/Wireless router then reboot XP8 and T4.

I was having a similar issue with my setup here at home, early on
