I've never knew about this until I actually read the RMA. Looks like an easy way for customers to order batteries without a service call. Although service calls are always a good time to upsell. Either way I thought it was pretty nice.

This is GREAT. I get calls from a customer all the time along the lines of "Hi, you sold me this T-2C three years ago and for some reason the remote is not charging anymore".

It's as if a remote's rechargeable battery is a innovation or something. Since when do rechargeable batteries ever hold their charge after a couple of years of use? I am just glad I don't have to deal with the service calls for bad batteries.

Yeah great and then the customer attempts to change the battery all by themselves and ends up breaking the power connector off the motherboard

Yeah, RTI really needs to stake these connectors down with a little bit of epoxy after they're soldered. That would hold them down. As is the pads will rip off the board very easily since it's a surface mount connector. Just had to resolder a T1 connector that I damaged myself the other day.
