Hey guys,
Im new to the rs-232 side of things and im having trouble with a Benq W6000 that im trying to control with rs-232. Here is what is in the sheet that i was sent from benq
Power On ASCII X001X ACK X0_01X
Power Off ASCII X002X ACK X002XX0_2X
Could someone tell me how it should be written in integration designer. Im lost with all this and really want to control with rs-232 instead of IR on this job. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

first, did you read the whole protocol document, and do you understand what you need?
If you did, that with the limited info you posted, i'd venture to say that Power on is X001X in Ascii, and Power off is X002X in Ascii.
So in ID you would make sure the HEX box is unchecked, and put those strings in.
depending on what the protocol doc says, you may or may not need a carriage return or line feed. And you may or may not need a null modem.
Since RTI has no 2 way driver for that model you will get no feedback.
I assume you want to control it with 232 b/c they have no discrete IR commands?
If you are new to RS232, i'd suggest reading some posts in the 232 forum.

Thanks for the help. I wasnt sure if i need to add anything to the ASCII line. Im going to give it another try and also try a null modem adapter as well. Benq is very brief with an explanation regarding all this.
