i still cant get over the length of these RTI remotes.
the T3-V is a great shape, with a sweet screen. its missing a few key hard buttons (prev channel) but otherwise its really nice.
ive been using a T2-C all weekend and its just too long!!
the remote makes me feel small. like it was made for a really large person.
i guess i just have to get used to it . . i just dont understand the logic behind it.

The T1B 'feels' longer because it's a bit thinner than the T2C.
I have a T2C and can tell you that you will get used to it. Honest.

I use a T2-Cs at home, and after not touching another remote for a while I picked up a T2-C and it felt like I couldn't get my thumb all the way around it! LOL
You get used to ANYTHING given enough time... I hardly ever use the touchscreen on mine. I hit Watch TV then it's 99.9% hard buttons from there.

well, im giving this client 4 T2-C 's
2 in one home and 2 in another. so it should be the only remote he knows for a while.
i just feel like they could have made it slightly smaller.

You do get used to the remote you're using.
Give it two weeks and see if you have the same complaint, issue, or if you even notice it.
How many times have we fought with designers about putting speakers into kitchen ceilings because they (and we, frankly) think that too many things will be up there, only to find that nobody EVER looks up when the house is done?

Well, here's the problem.
You need X number of buttons.
You need a minimum amount of vertical space between buttons to prevent "fat finger" syndrome.
You can only go 3 or 4 buttons wide before a hard buttoned remote design becomes unusable for a single hand (save for the menu cursor which CAN handle 5 for one spot), or at minimum bewildering to look at (see: Pioneer OEM receiver remotes).
Result: tall remotes, which has become the trend from cheap to expensive. I mean I'm just writing a news report on a new cheapie Sony, and it's a full inch taller than the previous model. Which was in turn taller than older models.
Granted the T2-C *could* have been 1, maybe 1.5 inches shorter if they really worked at it.

Here's an example of tall AND bewildering:

I think the real reason is because of their charging stations. And I think it's a lame reason.
I do get used to it as I'm sure clients will. But initial reactions when looking at the remote for the first time are interesting to say the least.
That and a wand style remote should really be one handed but that is not the case with these. You really need two hands.
I love the t3v. Great size. Just wish it had hard buttons for transports.
