I have project coming up where one XP8 just won't be enough. I may need as much as 12-15 routable IR plus the 6 (maybe more) RS232.

So, can I stack XP8's?

Are there other solutions for expanding control outputs of both type?

You can use a PCM-8 for the IR and one way RS232... Always be aware of what you REALLY need to have 2-way control over so you don't waste your 2-way RS232.. And yes you can stack your XP-8's....

I try to use 232 on TV's whenever possible just to make for a neater installation. I didn't realize the PCM-8 was finally shipping.

I don't think the PCM8's are shipping yet? At least they weren't about a week ago. I had the same situation and to simplify I used one XP-8 solely for TV control (Mostly Pioneer's 232 and some Pansonics IR) and the other XP-8 did everything else. This made writing macros much easier. I put the buttons in standalone mode as usual and just told the TV to come on or off with xp8 #1 and then the other XP8 did the rest.

The PCM-8's are the way to go but they are not available yet. I have used the Niles IR router the par 4 and they are pretty inexpensive.
