Hi,
I am just about to finish my first 2-way K4/RK3 installation for a client, using Russound ACA-E5 and Escient drivers. I have one question for the experts out there. How to get the scrolling list for artist/album/playlist to appear on left hand side of the Oasis iPod K4 template? I really don’t understand how to use the “Select Item (Escient Media Server\Music Browsing)” and Index parameter.

There are a number of parameters that have to be set. Highlight the Scrolling list and right click 'Properties',
under 'Item List', check - Use Highlight,
next, under 'Driver Command', select - Select Item (Escient Media Server\Music Browsing)
and finally, under 'Variables' - 'Item List Object', select - Browse List (Escient Media Server\Music Browsing)

Next step, right click 'Heading' - Edit Text - in the top Control Bar, go to 'Insert Control Variable' - Escient Media Server - Music Browsing - List Heading. As soon as you do this, (VAR) will appear, and when you click OK, 'Music' will now show as the title.

From here I change a number of things in the template, firstly I delete most of the bottom section, climate, security, etc, obviously leaving in the Home Page jump. I move the Play, Next Track, Stop and Pause to below the Scrolling List (and make the buttons a little bigger) and delete the rest of the transport buttons - you won't use them anyway! Also, (in the case of the Escient FP-1) the Track Position Bar Graph doesn't work, so I delete it as well.

This now gives me room to move the 'assign cover art variable here' down into the space now available and make it bigger. Try to keep the ratio similar and you also have to right click on properties, then Variables - Dynamic Image - Cover Art (Escient Media Server\Now Playing), Also, click - 'Preserve Aspect'.

In the space where the Cover Art was, I now put 4 buttons in 2 rows, first row is Up and Down, in the Library Browser on the Right of the screen, click on 'Objects' and then use the Drop Down and select - Two Way Item List. Drag and Drop the Scroll Up and Scroll Down onto the buttons, a Blue 'C' will appear.
In the second row, do a 'Select' button, also using the select from the Objects List. Then a 'Back' button - Properties - Driver Command - Back (Escient Media Server\Music Browsing).

If you don't want the Repeat and Random buttons, rename the Repeat to 'Play Mode', put a Driver Command of 'Toggle Mode' on it, delete the Random Button, form a new button with a Transparent background - Edit Text - Variable - Mode.

If you like, I can send you a sample of this, along with another page that also uses a video input as well.

A little involved but I hope this has helped.
