I've heard people say that the Vaux Matrices are very good. How is the 2-way control? I know most people are saying not to put any feedback on the handheld remotes, but I'm thinking the 2-way control is still very helpful when programming instead of the use of flags.

Can the Vaux switch be controlled with 2-way via IP or does it have to be RS232?

I consistently use 232, one way, with rock solid operation. One of my favorite pieces of equipment to use.

I rarely need to have active feedback from that unit since each zone has its own remote/source/display, so no need to see what other rooms are doing. Although it might be nice to see some feedback on volume level / source locally.

I think its time to play with the drivers again, LOL!

I was thinking feedback would be nice for an easier way of tracking if a source is currently in use or not. However, I don't really have any experience with true 2-way control systems so maybe that's not really how it works.

I know I could setup a reliable flag test, keeping all the flags on the XP8, but that seems like more work than is necessary when feedback is an option.

I have used it with extensive feedback. Works excellent, inside the parameters of the driver. You can get source and volume status, and my favorite trick, zone copy. Select your music for one zone, then just copy it via floorplan view into any zone or all zones. Very reliable and quick communication. It would be nice if they updated the driver to do more than 16 zones and ethernet.

Can you give us more detail on the Zone Copy... I'm currently programing a system that has a Vaux 16x16...

Basically a source push.

System variable test: zone I'm in, source 1
True: set zone I pressed to source 1
False: System variable test: zone I'm in, source 2
True: set zone I pressed to source 2
False: etc....

Where the button press is a transparent button overlayed onto one room of a floorplan of the house.
