Looking to do my first matrix distribution using directv and rti. I'm not new to RTI but new to 2way. Can RTI indicate if selected source has been selected in another room? Thanks

Unknown yet. But thinking 8X8 HDMI, not the gefen, Possibly Aurora multimedia.

then not specifically. there are 2 way drivers written by rti for a couple of matixes at the moment. if you want to use anything else then the only way to do it would be to use a series of flags on the processor to track the status of each output, then have the remote only display the indicator when the flag is set. much the same way that the volume pop up works. however i am not at work at the moment and cannot check that the remotes are able to track the flags on the processor yet.
some one else will chime in and shoot me down if i am wrong.

If you are using a matrix with a 2-way driver, then yeah you could do it.  If not, then you would have to build flags for every source and every input, then have a button become 'visible' on an XP-8 flag if you select a source that's already in use (or however you want it to work).  With a pre-built driver it gets exponentially easier.

Yes you can do it without a driver, but it's going to be fun........

that switch from Aurora is made by RT Com: it is the best HDMI switch I have tested: it does have 2 way RS232 but no RTI drivers are listed

it also can be controlled by ethernet: you need to use a terminal program to find its IP address (typically 192.168.0.002)
