Hello everybody,

I am having problems with a VSX94 pioneer elite receiver via RS232 I do not know if it is the baud rate or the catse wiring and it is hooked up to an XP-8 and 40 feet of cat5e terminated in A with RJ45 connectors. on one end it goes in the XP-8 on the receiver end it goes to that RJ45 to serial connector that comes with the XP-8 and I had to add a gender bender DB9 female to female because the receiver is male. Do I have to setup anything in the receiver? I looked but saw nothing. Hope someone could help, thank you and GOD bless you all.

Sincerely,

Felix

I've had to use a null modem adapter on Pioneer receivers for RS-232 control.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

or just cut a new RJ45 and swap the Blue/White and Orange wires if you don't have a null modem adapter.
