Finally got an XP-8 for the office!  Woo hoo!  Only problem is I have to get our WHOLE system redone before next thursday...

Anyhoo, right now I'm putting together the new programming for our 433 T4.  Are there any practical limitations to the two-way info I'll get via WiFi?  For example will I be able to get full cover art from an Escient Fireball?

Thanks to all - I'm trying to keep from wasting my time setting up something that won't work from the start...

edit - plus I just remembered that ours is an older model that (I believe) is only 802.11b

full cover art not a problem.
limitation is usual time to reconnect to wifi on wake. combine rf control for things like volume control, channel change etc, use 2 way via wifi for the pretty things like volume graph objects etc. like RTI suggest in the tech bulletins

Oh thanks - I forgot there was a tech bulletin on this.

I have the T4 set as one-way RF for default output, then 802.11 for two-way communication method.  Hopefully this will work.

Jim - How have you made out with XP8 + fireball. I'm looking to use tv3 w\fireball MX series and 2way. Hows the wifi, any issues - Can you do 232 with this setup rather then wifi?

We have the Fireball set up on a T4 in our lobby so it's not like it gets used every day.  No issues except the "highlight" option checkbox was NOT enabled in the Escient demo page.

Oh, and it takes a while for the wifi to reconnect when you first wake up the remote.  A long while... long enough that you have to teach people to wait for the wifi LED to light up before they start pressing buttons.
