Had to use codes from RX 777(new) as 797 was not in database. Programmed T3V and could not activate CBL/SAT input. Tuner, CD and Tape/MD inputs worked. Tried CBL/SAT from at least 10 other Yamaha models. Tried Video 1, 2, 3, 4, VCR, VCR 1, VCR 2, etc. After an hour of trying to get it to respond I gave up.
Also weird: After I updated the remote and RP 1, none of the codes worked. After experimentation the only way I could get the remote to work was to update the T3V twice. As soon as the first update was complete, I did it again. For whatever reason, the second time was always the charm. Any thoughts? .

never seen that befor but I would try a few thins: a: reload latest firmware to both b: try as a stand alon (no rp1) just IR see how that works c: swap out the t3v for a new one see what happens d:swap the RP 1 with the CB5(thoese are not always relible) ext ext u get the point anyhow even reletive to RTI issues this sounds like a freack problem

Im pretty sure Yamaha has new IR's on the new models this year. You may have to learn the remote code input with the IR PRO

Interesting. I've sold Yamaha for years and I noticed the box and packing on the CDC600 is completely different looking than in the past, as is the display on the unit. Probably outsourced to someone else, but who? Thanks for the advice though. I think you're correct.
