Wondering if there is a way to test the state of a list variable to set a Flag.

The Escient Driver has a button text variable called "System State"
0 - Offline, 1 - Syncing, 2 - Ready, 3 - Error

Rather than show the text I was looking to link it to a button to show LED color
0 - Red, 1 - Yellow, 3 - Green, 3 - Red

Not listed to link to an image
Looked under system variables - not listed as option
Looked under events - not listed as option

Any other way to test the state and set a variable or link to an image?

Thanks,

My guess right off the bat is you probably could do it with some tricky flag staus sets and tests.

I was thinking the same thing.  You could have a driver status test set an XP-8 flag, then you could have 4 different colored buttons stacked on top of each other and set each one to only be visible on its corresponding XP-8 flag.

It's kludgy, but (if the escient driver allows this) it should work.  I really hope they release a simpler way to do things like this.

The trouble is finding a way to set the variable, I can handle the graphic part.

It seems the only way to check status of driver state is if it's listed in system events or system variables. And those appear to be only boolean variables, not state. The driver state I need is a list of 4 states, not a true/false.

Wow - the only Driver Event you can create is for when the aspect ratio changes?  And the only system variable test is Power and "Mode in use"?  How lame is that?

I don't think you can do what you're trying to do...  But if you figure it out I'd love to know.

Jimstolz76,

Yeah that's all I found, wasn't sure if there was any other place in ID to test a variable. Oh well, guess I'll leave it at the text, at least there's that.

No, I think we've already found out that it's just not possible.  Maybe with Control4... :)

Guys, it is possible, but the part of the 2way-image like the weather condition image is missing. To create a 2way image is a secret by RTI so far and i hope they let us know soon, how to create this images. Maybe there is way or workaround like the xxx^#DOWN.png or xxx^#UP.png to build own images, but i have tried some variations with no success.
