Hey, we're new to RTI and just sold our first set up.

Simple living room application:

Display
DVD
CD
T/W Cable
AVR
5.1
Zone #2 - Bedroom Stereo Speakers w/in-wall vol. control

First among many questions - will the RP-1 work with a voltage sensing unit for the T/W receiver?  I believe it will work for one unit.

My dealer catalog says the SPS-1 and VPS-1 are for RP-6 and XP-8.  No mention of the RP-1 - Am I missing something?

I'm still in URC head - trying to figure out a work-a-round.

Why voltage sense, it has descrete power if it's a new DTV DSS.

For what?

PS, Congrats.

You don't need the voltage sense module for an RP-1 because you can just feed 3-30v to the Sense and Ground terminals for power sense.  You can use the video sync module with an RP-1, but you have to hack the mini plug off and your conditionals have to be reversed from what you would normally use (on is off, off is on)  There's a technical bulletin about this on RTI's site.

DirecTV has discretes for everything - no need to use power sensing anyway as thefish said.

If it has a switched outlet on the cable box, plug a 12v transformer in, and plug that into the sense port on the ECB5, an you are good to go.

Unless you are west coast comcast as they have a glitch in their software so the switched outlet is no longer switched

no mountain, but one thing to know is if Comcast rehits the box, it resets it to unswitched.

Nope, I think we're good out here.

So, that problem solved.  Any other programming issues to watch for?

Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

Personally, I leave them on all the time too. I just give them a Power button on the cable pages incase the box is ever off when they get to it. Way less headaches and zero service calls.

Everybody always says that, but after a power outage the default is off...

At home I leave mine on all the time, but I'm not my client.
