Anyone have this problem w/ the T3VZB: When the remote is inactive for a short period, then when pressing a button (especially the page down paddle), it will suddenly make a sort of stuttering button press, like 4 or 5 presses all at the same time.

$5 says you're on the edge of your Zigbee range.  Which, if that's the case, it's nothing wrong in your programming.  May need to relocate the antenna or move repeater antennas around.

I have experienced this problem with my personal evaluation T3CZ/XP8 system. The antenna is only about 10 ft away from the remote, so in my case I don't think it's a range issue.

I've been trying to decide if its a problem with the T3CZ itself, or if it is a zigbee issue. Don't see how it could be a programming issue.

FWIW, when the problem does occur, the remote button audible click happens about 4-5 times, but it seems that the command itself is only sent once.

Yep, that sounds like the same thing. I use the paddle for Tivo fast forward/reverse/play. The stuttering seems to be about 4-5 times also, sometimes less but it will cause the programmed function to activate sometimes. It has to be a hardware issue. The ZB reciever is anly 10 feet away, so hopefully it is not a range issue!

Snarf, what button have you noticed this on? Is it the page paddle button?

Is the antenna near anything that would be giving off interference?  I had a job where I moved the antenna about 10' from where I initially put it and the performance went from OK to perfect.

I'm standing in the house where I'm having this exact issue right now.  In my case it's absolutely a range issue.  There is an electrical subpanel in the room and it's killing my Zigbee and WiFi signals.  1 step out of the room and it works perfectly.  I had to put a ZM24 right in that room to get it work.  However, if you have multiple ZM24s you have to make sure the remote is actually talking to the closest antenna.  If I take this remote from the basement to the room on the 2nd floor where I'm having trouble, it still talks to the basement antenna.  That's when I get skipping and repeated commands.  If I reboot the remote in that room, then it locks on to the ZM24 that's about 8 feet away from it and it works perfectly.

Do you have just one ZM24 or multiple ones?

edit - should have mentioned this happens on three different T2-CZ's

Just another data point...I have this exact same problem with a T4 on a page with a panasonic camera object. Every press of the any of the hard buttons causes a 4-5 click studder. Very annoying. I've never found a solution.

I've noticed it on that button, and other buttons as well. It doesn't appear to be limited to any specific button. And just to be clear, the problem is intermittent, it only seems to occur once or twice during a period of 2-3 hours of use.

That is a good point - right now the ZM24 is only about 6-8 ft away from the TV and components. I will try moving it farther away to see if that eliminates the problem.

I noticed today on another install w/ separate equipment (XP8, T3Vzb). I had some programming buttons set up as standalone on the touchsreen and noticed the same thing happening intermittetly on them. If set as standalone, it should not have anything to do w/ the ZB, although it is still connected. Maybe it still has something to do w/ the ZB trying to connect. I am having a lot of problems w/ the location of the ZB reciever, it is behind the TV, next to a wifi so I am going to move it. Still seems strange to have an effect on the standalone.

I think some of you might be talking about two different things.

I've experienced a "stutter" of the clicking sound you hear when you press a button (any button). There is no stutter of the commands being sent.

My T3v is a first run model, part of the first shipment. It does the "stutter" fairly often because my girlfriend always comments about the remote "yelling" at her.

I attributed it to having rather large image files as my backgrounds... but can offer no other theory than that.

Still having problems with this pretty consisently even w/ new T3's. File size is about 3.5m about 1/3 capacity. I called RTI a while back and they said they have never heard of this problem.

Do you guys use the Oasis templates? My remotes usually have a lot going on w/ custom buttons, hidden buttons w/ variables, etc. I wonder if that has an effect?

I saw and heard this happen on a non zigby T3V recently after pressing a bottom left button on the touch screen. I was not able to repeat the event with that particular remote and it did not seem to cause any problems. Remote works great other wise

This occurred recently out of the box when one of the motif icons were selected, there are audio files laid on (at&t text to speech?) that stuttered a bit. Would have gone un-noticed if not for the cccccccurcauuuuuu audio file. Unit was out of the box with no control system in place. Unit was programmed and implemented and has not duplicated issue.

I had this happen the other day with a T3V-ZB but no commands were sent and can't recall it ever reoccurring. No clue as to what it was. I think it happened with the Scroll Button. I'm using the Oasis background.
