I still like the HAI class I went to where the guy talks about a window contact on the teenage daughter's bedroom window, HAI's built-in timeclock, and a sprinkler system directly below that window. If the window opens after 11pm the sprinklers come on. :) Thats a great idea, could work on peeping toms and barking dogs too, and best of all RTI can do this

this was a great read, as i just got in to RTI and am starting to learn crestron.
2 questions,
1 - you mention an iPhone app for RTI - all i have heard on this so far was that its at least a year away?
2 - i remember seeing at cedia - crestron had a really impressive product in the adagio line that was an av recevier, and a dist audio system all in one unit. it also had a really cool OSD overlay on top of HDMI that let you control aspects of the system ( i dont remember the detail) i think this was it [Link: crestron.com] but cant find the detail on the OSD portion of it.
my question is, if crestron doesnt make that, who does (you mentioned rebadging) - and who makes such a nice OSD (dont even mention control4 as their products are really ugly)

Just informed that with the new release of ID 7 there will be a firmware release for the K4 that WILL turn the screen on. It will be part of the Page Jump macro. This IS functioning in beta right now.

crestron is way better than rti . I'm not dissing rti i love it but I have work for some top crestron dealer who have top notch programmers and crestron worked flawlessly . I went to level 1 . I can program a basic system . the program takes much longer to learn. Crestron's been doing two way forever. Crestron has glitches once in a while but crestron will come on site and fix it. the stuff is more expensive but could i would offer it first to a wealth client . A customer asked me about crestron and I recomended rti . And now I have no two way feed back for the lexicon . Fp-1's that lock up the system . Just my thoughts

Plus my bad batch of RTI touch panels has not slowed down, by far the most painful endeavor we have ever traveled down as a company.

Can I have the number of this "come on site and fix it Crestron guy"? They will actually send a Crestron employed engineer to the project. I have asked for this and have had two real live engineers on site for a day to work out some kinks in the early Adagio days.
They make it real tough to contact them as well:
