ive asked before, but in a different non related thread,
just wanted to start a dedicated thread to make sure . .

is it possible to have the RK3 default to a screen after a period of inactivity ?
we are using RK3's and RP6's.

can the RP6 and RK3 not due sleep macros?

No, sorry.

The RP6 doesn't sleep, per say. You want the RK3 to goto sleep, it is after all running Windows. If it stayed on all the time, it would lock up eventually.

If you had an XP8 in the system, you could set up periodic events to send the RK3 to a default screen, but not with an RP6.

I assume you have used the RK3 before, but if not, be aware that when the screen times out, it does not shut off the backlight. Bad in a bedroom.

Now that I think about it, that won't even work. you can't wake up a touchscreen via 2 way.

Yes, but if that macro tells RK3 #1 to go to page 1, and RK3 #1 is in sleep, it wont go to the page.

RK3 > Right Click > Properties > Backlight.

It's probably set to 100 for inactive.

The RK3 never goes to sleep, so it will always get the page flips. The screen goes off after the timeout, but it is still alive. I have set several up like this. Even though you can't see it while the screen is off (and the page flip doesn't immediately make the screen turn back on), when you wake it up it is on the screen you told it to go to.

The T2c and T3v act like you describe, though. I was told it is a matter of battery life that they don't keep their zigbee on when they are sleeping so they don't hear the page flips.

Yes, the timed macros can only be run on an XP8.

Yes you can use timed macros, you can also use triggered macros, or even events trigged from hand held remotes (two way or not) and of course other touch panels.

but you dont need an XP8 to make the thing go to sleep.
Turn off the ambient light sensor and set the idle backlight to 0%

No the RK3 will not default to anything other than a dimmed or off state
