Does the comparatively low activity on this forum speak well or poorly of the success of this remote?

--->Are they working so well and are so easy to use that no one needs help?

or...

--->Does no one care?

They work great, require little assistance, are not sold in high volume because of their price, and unfortunately RTI is not generating any excitement with a possible sequel.....

Boringly efficient - consider it a good sign. It does things right pretty much first time around, so you don't end up spending the rest of the time trying to make it work. I think the only aspect people spend time on is getting the RF to work consistently, if you're using it. It ends up being a remote, not a hobby or lifestyle :-).

the sad fact remains that sales are a bit off overall on this remote. at 650. for the remote is a bit steep for the average user if their not going to use the fr features

I think RTI should expand their offerings... both with lower and higher-priced products.

I would agree, either that or they should sell of their remote division to someone who will take advantage of the best and most powerful software by far, of any remote on the market. Hopefully they will have something up their sleeve for CEDIA. Having owned everything including the Crestron and new Pronto pro, the T2 is still my favorite.

After just returning from CEDIA, the interesting thing was that RTI was not there in any form. Due to their being at last years show, I now use their remote almost
95% of the time and now can sleep easier with almost nil emergency calls. The buzz was that there might be
"financial difficulties" in their operation. I hope not, the RTI remote has made installing home theater systems much much easier for our company. I did see the new Mx700 unit, the big brother of the Mx500, the new software is exceptionally well written and easy to use..but it will never match the RTI product.

I still find the T2 the absolutely best remote out there. Some may argue with that, but no one argues that it is the easiest to program and has the most capability at its price. I was disappointed not to see them at CEDIA also and have no knowledge of their financial situation. But if they are in a situation it is due to some early quality problems and their willingness to take everything back and replace it with new units with no questions asked. It would be a real shame if they don't survive, I love this remote.

RTI is still active as an OEM/software partner for other companies. They got their start in the manufacture of the Lexicon 500T. Now they are invoved in Sonance's Navigator multiroom keypad. I use the T2 less myself as I grew tired of the inconsistant IRF6 and prefer the programming advantages offered by the Pronto Pro now that we can read the screen.
