I've got a K-Scape mini in-house, and thought about trying the new two way driver with IP control. Has anyone done this yet? If so, any tips?

I have one working with a server redirecting RS232 to a zoneplayer with ID #2. Works fine. Pretty much plug and play.

I tried for screen masking feedback, and it worked great straight away.
One issue has come up though, which is when the whole system gets powered up together, the 2-way feedback doesn't work until there is a reset of the XP8. I think this is because on power-up the XP8 is looking for a connction to the IP of the Kal, but as the Kal is still booting, it doesn't respond, and the XP8 gives up. When the XP8 is reset, the Kal is ready and waiting, and responds, and then everything goes fine.

After several days of functioning normally, my RK3 and K4 interfaces stopped working with the K-Scape screens (otherwise, they seemed to function fine). The K-Scape was still controllable by T2C using driver commands, so I know that the XP8 was still functional. A reset of the screens fixed the issue, but I would like to know what caused it.
I'll try to recreate the problem tomorrow to see if I can get some better details.
Any ideas as to the cause of both screens not updating or successfully sending driver commands? This setup is really great, and I would hate to have inexplicable little freeze ups plague its implementation...

After looking through the program, I found that on both the K4 and RK3 had the Output set to "IR Trigger Codes for Control System" rather than the "Two Way Trigger Codes for Control System". It is my suspicion that this is the reason for the problem, but I may not know for a couple of days since the other option worked fine for awhile before locking up.
Anybody have thoughts or experience on this?

Are your keypads and K-scape setup with static IP addresses outside the DHCP range?

Actually, I had a static IP on the K-Scape, but still had the k4 and rk3 getting their addresses dynamically. I have now changed all the control hardware to static, and it is outside of the DHCP assignment range.
One thing that I did not make clear in my other post is the fact that all the transport buttons operating through the k-scape driver still worked after the "freeze" - it was the cover art, now playing info, elapsed time, etc. that no longer updated. The weather driver also stopped updating.
It seemed to take the router down with the freeze too - I'm not sure which caused what, but I've never had trouble with that router before. I had to restart the router, then restart each screen to get it visible on the network to upload a new program to each.

Well, after about a week of functioning normally, the feedback on the RK3 is locked up, but the K4 is still working normally. I am in touch with tech support, and will post more details after getting onsite this afternoon.

I cannot seem to make this driver work via IP config or through the RS-232. I am not getting any control or feedback. I am at a complete loss right now. The client is due up and I have spent a lot of time trying to get this to work, and the client is starting to get upset. Is there any one who can help out with this? I am not sure what I am doing wrong...

Mike,
I just sent you a PM with my e-mail - I would be happy to look over your system file.

Well, I still haven't heard from RTI tech support on this problem. Both the K4 and RK3 are locked up (no feedback from K-scape, all other touchscreen functionality remains).
Anyway, I will be sure to post a solution if/when I get it figured out...

Finally got in touch with Brett - we have a potential solution in the works, but I won't know for sure until I leave it in place for a few days. I'll post an update when I know more.

Okay, so the fix for the problem I was having is in the new driver. Apparently, it was doing something wrong with the network to lock up the other networked RTI stuff. Kudos to Brett for helping me out!
