After several hours of inactivity, any RTI T2 command causes my Sony DSS to reset itself- then it works fine for several hours. I used RTI library commands for generic Sony DSS codes, am using RF mode with emitter on stb IR window any ideas? cross posted on AVS/HDTV Hdw

That sounds to me like a problem with the receiver. No IR command is able by itself to make a device malfunction like that, the worst case being that it isn't recognized.

The problem is with the Sony HD100. It is also prone to lock-up in which case you will have to disconnect the power cord for a few minutes then allow to reset.
The internal fan does not provide adequate cooling. Try an auxiliary fan.
