Is there a way to download X10 codes to the T2? Currently, I have an X10 remote that controls my pool equipment and backyard lightings. It would be nice to have the T2 control this as well. Thanks.

Joe.

They are listed on this site under the "files" section. The file by D. Garcia works fine. I have also submitted the 256 code IR543AH file to use with this new transceiver.

As always, thanks Bill. However, I'm unclear about your reference to the IR543AH. Do I need to purchase something else for the T2 to control X10 equipment? If I do, what do I need to get? If I don't, then would I just copy the hex codes to the T2 remote?

Thanks again...............Joe.

Joe,

To control X10 equipment, you need to send signals over your power lines. There are several X10 "controllers" that can do this, e.g.:
- those that you can hook up to a computer (such as the Ocelot and the CM11A)
- an RF receiver that accepts command from an X10 RF remote (come in IBM Home Automation kit)
- an IR receiver (IR543) that accepts X10 IR commands from IR remotes

The T2 (amongst many others) can send these X10 IR signals to the IR543. The IR543 is plugged into an outlet, and will generate X10 signals based on what IR signal it recieves.

The IR543AH is an enhanced version of the IR543, in that it can receive and generate house codes as well (the IR543 can only generate X10 signals for one user-selectable house code).

Arjen:

Thanks for the explanation. Right now I have an X10 plug-in remote (i.e. that's plugged into the A/C outlet). The remote has 5 buttons, as well as a switch that switches codes from 1-5 and 6-10. Each button correspond to a single control of a device. For example, 1 is for pool light, 2 for spa light, 3 for backyard light......7 for pool heater, etc. So with this setup should I get the IR543 or the IR543AH? Also, where can I buy this and would you know how much?

Thanks again...........Joe.

We have them both on our site. We are the only one in the USA selling the IR543AH. With what you have listed you can certainly get by with the IR543, the AH gives you a whole lot of expandablity and is also very useful if you get into scene lighting.

Thanks
Bill
