Does anyone know of a particular device that can convert an I.R. signal to a relay / contact, I would like to make the T2 operate my fireplaces,4 total. Any solutions for this without purchasing a different control system.

It would be nice if it was a learning box/ I.R. receiver that then throws the appropriate contact relays, small and simple. If it is available great - where, if not I think I need to make one. This would allow ANY remote have the alot of control. Buttons that are not being used on componant remotes can now be used for Lights, fireplaces, drapes, etc. without an expensive system controller and accessories required to do so currently?

Any ideas please!

Xantech makes a couple of pieces for relay closure. A cheap option if you only wanted a single relay is a A/B rf box which are available most anywhere for under $40. Send 12v in through the output and use input B to the relay.

I use X10 dimmers and switches and a box that can receive X10 commands from IR. The IR library for X10 is available at the theatertouch homepage.
