I found something funny with the RF Range of my T2, It works fine at 40 or more feets from receiver, but if you are close to it (3-5 feets), sometimes there are points when it doesn't receive any signal from T2.
Anyone with the same problem?

welcome to the world of standing wave ratio. there will "always" be null areas of a transmission by rf. its a matter of where you can live with.Orientation will change the pattern. You do not have a omni directional transmission.

Does anyone know an optimal range to place the rf antenna or do we have to look for a sweet spot? And will adding an rf antenna extension and extra antenna to the system add any problems?

If you still need help with RTI IRF6 RF range, you can extend antenna wire as long as you need. You need to use RG58 mini-coax with 50 ohms of resistance. Now you can locate antenna under house or in attic close to user area. Also, you might want to try the add on RF antenna.

Two things I do to improve IRF6 reception: I added a second antenna by putting a "tee" and a 90 degree fitting on the end of the existing cable and added a cheap Radio Shack antenna. Also the way you hold the T2 is important. Try a different position when transmitting.

eliminate the factory coax for the antenna:

do a search in this forum: install a BNC connector on the chasis of the IRF-6 and connect an antenna with low loss coax- this helps too
