Found out today that a single port and the high out on the XP8 can not run on the same Cat5. We used blue/blue-white and orange/orange-white in the same cable. The high out would bleed through regardless of color selection or doubling the pairs. We have done this before but it never matter because of equipment selection. This time we were trying to control 2 of same Blu-ray players. We ended up running an addition Cat5 for the high out to resolve the issue. Thought I would share incase someone was not aware.
I'll let you know tomorrow..

But the high out is intended for a connecting block not a direct emitter. You can run 2 emitters of one cat5 from seperate IR routed ports on the XP8.

I am sure I can create a situation were it would matter but usually the XP8 is with the gear and you can have 16 components IR routed as long as no more than 8 of them are identical. Then the highout to a connecting block. I am really having difficulty finding a situation were I would need to run a second cat5 to control only 2 similar items in one location.

And just in case this is a problem in need of a solution --

Any time you run a signal to an LED, the LED is off about half the time.

CAT-5 pairs are great at not bleeding through to other pairs, usually. In particular, when they have a load on them.

When an LED is off, it has no load on it and its wiring circuit is a very high impedance circuit, just perfect for picking up interference. If enough interference is picked up, it might flash the LED.

I suggest that a 1K resistor across the LED (at the LED end of the wire!) would draw very little current yet lower the impedance of the wire pair when the LED is off, and would solve this problem. This suggestion is from experience.
We can't give you a good answer, or maybe any, without the make and model of everything.
