I cannot see any IR sensors on the Toshiba TN50X81 TV that I have. I know by placing a stick flasher on top of the screen I can replace it.
Does anyone out there know where the IR sensor is located in or on it?

It's actually inside of the unit. :-)

Can you be a little more specific. IE. Where in the unit? For those who have done it, what is the procedure?

I don't know where inside exactly on your unit, but they're generally at the back behind the lens.

Thanks for trying to help Daniel and of course you are right about the IR sensor being behind the screen.
I consulted with a Custom Installer and he noted:
"The sensor is inside mounted next to the color guns. Just take the front screen off the set, drill a small hole below the mirror for your wire, and mount the flasher NEXT to, but not on top of the sensor."
I have done this and he was right on the money.
I checked with Toshiba and they gave me the same information but noted that taking off the front screen and/or drilling a hole through the back would void my warranty.

Be sure to seal that hole up!

Why would you need to seal the hole up? It is very small (1/8 of an inch) -- drilled it just to pass the wire through.

Why drill and hole? Run the wire out of the screen just before snapping the screen back on.

What exactly do you mean? If you bring the wire though the screen, it may be noticeable.
