This issue is usually a solder point issue. Usually from being dropped or possibly damaged in shipping. It has happened to me twice (out of maybe 50 T2C remotes).

As far as rebooting goes, just explain to your clients that once a month or so it may have to be turned off then back on much like a computer. I have never had anyone complain about flipping a switch.

Always keep extra batteries and chargers handy and check the file size of the remote.
