I know RTI read this forum from time to time, so thought I'd put up a couple of wishes for the next version of the designer. (Unless somebody else can tell me how to do them already!)

1) Have a RS-232 library like the IR Library.
I have just ordered my RS-232 cable from Bill, so thought while I'm waiting for it to arrive I'd start getting the programming done. What I have discovered is that I need to use the same commands in several macros and on several butons, but there's no way of saving my RS-232 commands in a library for each device rather I have to re-enter the strings (or copy/paste from another macro) each time! This makes for SLOW programming.

2) The ability to put comments into a macro. When doing the RS-232 programming I realized that what is displayed in the macro is the RS-232 string (a little hard to understand what it may be doing), so it would be nice to be able to either change the taxt that is displayed or be able to insert a comment line before the command within the macro. Of course if (1) above if done, then the description could be displayed instead of the rs-223 string. But it would still be nice to be able to add comments to explain reasons for doing certain things in macros.

Thanks
Richard

Good suggestions.

For my part, if RTI were to add hard buttons for transport control (full set, like MX-500) in a new T2, than I would for sure buy it again.

General wishes
- make the remote a tad smaller
- buttons for transport & nav control can easily fit into current nav pad area, see MX-500 design
- add a Menu button (to have both Menu and Guide)
- see the forum messages during the fist few months after release of the T2 for additional comments

Great suggestions on both posts.

One more thing I'd love to have: a programmable timer feature on the RF module, so that I could press a macro key on the remote and then have the RF module send out my series of commands after a user-specified delay. This would, for example, allow you to set up a master "sleep" function, which would shut off all devices after (say) 60 minutes.

Transport buttons,

don't need any more buttons! the navigate buttons can be easily programmed to play, stop, ff etc when double click. sure there not labeled but makes operation a breeze.

how about make the damn thing work in thr rf mode like it's suppose to be. Others companies do it all the time. This is just bad design people

Agree on the RF problem.

I've ended up with 2 antennas at right angles to each other to "almost" eliminate the black spots.

Come on RTI, everybody else seems to be able to get it right with their RF! (some RTI feedback would be apprecialted)

Our company has installed probably two to three dozen of the T2 remotes, most in RF. We have had our share of RF problems to say the least but the one thing you must keep in mind is that the T2 system is a very inexpensive RF remote system.
I repeat, these are very inexpensive as far as RF remote systems. Panja and Crestron make REAL RF remote systems, BUT they start at $5,000 minimum and go up very quickly from there.
I do agree that the T2 system leaves a lot for improvement, but there has never been an RF system or this type this inexpensive before. I think they did an all right job on their first attempt at their own RF system and hopefully RTI can beef up the system in the next version

To MR. Bob......what first attempt? these are the guys who designed the lexicon 700 t and the matching tcm3 rf module. they couldn't get it right on those units too. you had to go in a do modifications on them to get any reliable range. also they had the same gounding problems on those rf modules as well. as far as a inexpensive system the jvc receiver with rf control works 99% of the time with a true 90 foot radius everytime and retails for 800.00 and they throw in a surround receiver.
