Does anyone know if there's discrete codes for radio station presets for either a Denon DRA-685 or Yamaha RX-V596? I don't know of a way on either, to force a starting position, like Group A, Preset 4.

Mike, Don't know about the Yahama, nor your particular Denon model, but the remote (in Tuner mode) for my Denon AVR-1800 has a function to select the preset bank (A-E), and the number buttons 1-8 to select the presets within each bank. If your remote does not have these functions you could try using a C7 or an RS-1994 with the advanced codes on Rob's site: www.hifi-remote.com

Thanks for the info. I'm going to try some Denon codes from another receiver, and look into the advanced codes for both units.
