Talked to the folks at etronixs and they tell me they have spare batteries in stock for the RTI T2 but they are not on there site. Has anyone purchase one? I see they sponser the contest here, are they a decent company to deal with?

Etronixs is a good company to buy from. Another one recommended source is homeautomationnet.com.

Just wondering, how would you use more than two batteries with one remote and one charger?

I can think of a number of reasons, I really want a 3rd battery. There is one huge disadvantage to a rechargable battery pack. If you run out of juice there is nothing you can do but sit there till the battery re-charges. I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages but there are situations where this will bite you.
I have had it happen twice now where I used up a battery, plugged it into the recharger and then used up the 2nd battery. The charge process is fast, but not fast enough if both batteries end up dead because you accidently unplugged the recharger...or did not snap the battery all the way into the charger. That leaves you in the uneviable position of not being able to control your equipment at all.
The first time that happened to me I was fast forwarding over comercials and ended up with no way to stop the FF because the battery died. It was kind of comical. :)

dude, you can't juggle 2 batteries and you want another! at that rate you'll end up with just 3 dead batteries instead of just 2! :)
