Does anyone know if the "control in" jack on the pioneer vsx-1017 will work directly from a connecting block or rp6? It is not labeled SR+ on th eunit but the manual says it is SR+. I know on sony you can strip the carrier freqency of the IR for S-control but can't recall on pioneer. Just trying to avoid emitter on front and unfortunatly no rs232.

Hi Erik, hope all is well. If it helps, I use the IR in the back of my VSX-94TXH without stripping the carrier freq. I know it's a new model, but I can't imagine it not working for you.
Good Luck, Vincent

Hi ErikS, I've tried it and it didn't work although I didn't try stripping the carrier frequency. I'd be curious to know if you made it work.
