This may be a dumb question, but I haven't done a T1 yet and I'm quoting 2 in this one (retro) job.

1 location is simply going to be Sat and DVD. (with sat rcvr, dvd, surround rcvr, and TV)
I'm going to set the A, B, C, D buttons to the red, blue, green, yellow DirecTV commands. I probably don't even need anything else on the remote, but I'm only going to be using 2 of the source buttons. It looks like those buttons are all forced to 'global' control - do they also force a 'page flip'?

What do you guys put on there on basic (and I mean REALLY basic) systems?

Dont know if Id do the blue/red/green/yellow. That eats up all your buttons immediately. Not sure how youd be able to do without at least "info" and "previous".
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.

Hmm.... yeah I had just realized there was no Info button. Someone mentioned putting the "Previous" command on the * button.

I guess if not doing a DVR you don't really need the color buttons, huh

You will have no problems using the bottom four source buttons for your blue/red/green/yellow. I did this for the 3 color SA8300 buttons and works fine. There is no "force" of a source flip either (just don't assign a page to the button).

Of course, these are global buttons, but that shouldn't really matter. And when you select the "assign page to button" to none, it won't light up like a normal source button would. This way, you still have the 4 function buttons available, plus 2 more source buttons if needed.

Cool, that's probably what I'll do.

It sucks that there isn't another option from RTI at this price point. Everyone here talked me out of the M2, so the T1 is it for this job...
