Could somebody confirm if there are still issues with this? I need to quote a job where I could use one XP8 or I would need two RP6. Of course the use of the XP8 would give me more options now and in the future, but I don't really have time to deal with issues on this job. I need to get in and out as soon as possible.
I'm always right. The only time I was wrong was the time that I thought, that I was wrong.

I'm now working on my third one and I haven't had any issues. I suppose it could depend on what equipment you're using and how you set up your macroes.

I've installed 6 of them. There is latency with respect to the sustain repeat, but all you have to do is change the delay between repeats. It's just different that a rp6. The RP6 ramps real fast, so you have to add in a bug delay. The XP8 kind of has a delay already built in. When using RS232 with INtegra, I have a .2-.3 delay on my sustain, and it works fine.

I was told RTI was working on a firmware update for this, but i'm not holding my breath.

Other than that, the XP8 i've installed
have been fine

Let's assume for a minute that this whole latency never exist. If you were to design a system, where you need to control 4 rooms; all of them with the same equipment layout and model number; TV, Receiver, DVD and Satellite, with the same remote T1 on every one of them. Which approach you would take? Would you use one XP8 or four separate RP6?
I'm worry about the fact that if by any chances two or more rooms fire a trigger command at the same time the XP8 could miss some of them if not all, even with separate RM-433?

You said before that you've got to get in and out and don't have time to waste. Maybe this isn't the right project for your first XP-8.

I see other benefits to the four RP6 approach, like expandability for one.
