Does anyone have any experience with this piece and IR control? I am having some strange issues.

1. Up, down, left, and right can only be pressed once. After the first press it will not respond to another press in same direction until you have pressed a different direction. This makes it impossible to scroll through stations.

2. It also doesn't always respond to the numeric keys.

I have tried several of the code sets in the mega list and also tried learning the commands. I have also tried several different emitters and different placements. I also have tried adjusting output level on connecting block.

I am about to give up and go to rs232, but that would require another rp6 as all my ports are used.

Any help?

Thanks

it uses a toggle bit IR code set

In RTI you have to use the the toggle code command and within that use 1a and 1b, 2a and 2b and so forth for all the commands

Its a bit tricky but once you do a couple you will see

If you need some help, drop me an email and I will see what I can do for you to help you out
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

There is a firmware update that was available for the unit that fixed the toggle bit issue. BUT the firmware was only good if a certain hardware update had been done to the unit.

Call Polk, with serial number and current software number in hand, and ask them about it. They can tell you if your unit can be updated by you, or if it needs the hardware update.

That makes since. I have done a couple, but they were all provided by me and done in the last 6 months. This one is customer provided and he has had it over a year.

I will call and see if the firmware can be upgraded. That would save a lot of programming as this system has 11 keypads.

Thanks

I love customer supplied equipment, even if I verified it could be "controlled". There will always be some little technicality that will cost me hours of time.

No joke. On this job, which was 6 zones of HD and Audio and another 8 of audio the only piece I let him supply was two older toshiba plasmas and this tuner. Probably have a couple days in getting the POS tv's with no discretes and this tuner to behave.

I got a hold of Polk and they said it would have to be sent in to get fixed. I am not reprogramming all of those kp's for toggle bit.
