Denon AVP-A1HDCI

using AVR3808CI serial codes from ID library (they work OK)

BUT I cannot get vol up or down commands to ramp: tried every combo of delays/repeats/ hold button et al: nothing works: it goes up/down in steps with each button push, but not if you hold the button

I had the same problem with an MC-12

Is this a bug with the XP-8? using T4 and XP-8

This is frustrating

any ideas?

On the XP-8... where is the command? On the button or are you calling it from the processor as a macro?

I found that I usually needed a .1 delay between repeates when the command was on the button, (for an RTI talking to an RP-6.) With the XP-8 I removed the delay and it still worked.

serial command on button / on XP8 does not make any difference

want to hold the vol button and have it ramp: works fine from rear IR port of AVP

using rear IR port for control; front IR eye is still on: and is overloaded by a nearby 63 plasma [at night] :so AVP stops responding to rear IR port

ended up with a cover over the AVP eye to make it work: same issue with MC-12un V5 which was replaced (and is for sale: email me)

I've used the XP8 to control AVR3808 via RS232... and no issues.

RS232 command (MVUP\r) is placed on the button, using the button's EDIT PROPERTIES>RS232 tab

Still in the properties, put a CHECK in the "Sustain" check box
then, set delay between repeats to 0.1
And no delay between characters.

Good luck

Mark, I've had similar problems when using a macro on Volume + and Volume -, try 'Edit Properties' and 'Create RS232', run your string and select sustain. This should fix the problem.
I should add, it can tend to ramp the Volume quite fast, if so, try taking the sustain out, but works well otherwise.

When ramping serial within a macro, you have to use the "repete steps" command to get it to work . In a macro, sustain is of no use, that is why the repete steps command is there
