System:

Autopatch Precis 8x8 Video controlled RS232
Autopatch Precis 8x8 Audio controlled RS232
4 x Directv H21 Receivers
1 x SA8300HD
8 x Samsung Plasmas
1 x Denon DVD changer
1 x Denon DVD single

Unless noted, all devices are IR controlled.
RTI
1 x K4
2 x RP6
1 x MSU480

Main RP6 routes Sat 1-4 in order followed by Cable then 5 Disc DVD on the main RP6.

Secondary RP6 controls both switches via RS232 as well as a FP1.

K4 wired to a CB4 via RJ45 (overkill) and the output is run to the MAIN RP6 expansion.

The main RP6 is wired to the secondary RP6 bare wire ground and signal in(I think).

The secondary RP6 is wire 12v, Ground, and (High IR out) IR to the MSU480. MSU480 flashes 8 TVs.

Hopefully thats enough description for Ernie!

Anyways, everything was running great until last night the client called saying they had to unplug the system entirely. I get there the next morning and ALL of the flashers are lit up. Turns out there was a short in the control wire to the CB4.

Fixed that.

Then I had my programmer made a few basic changes. I uploaded this file to all 3 RTI pieces as told in the software.

After adjusting some more of the 232 strings for absolute volume I uploaded the file to the K4 and the secondary RP6 since the software showed the MAIN RP6 didnt require updating.

Now NONE of the devices on the MAIN RP6 work, however I have full control over the matrix switchers and every other device on the SECONDARY RP6 and MSU even though they run as slaves to the MAIN.

Any ideas?

...By the way..... All IR routing and control worked yesterday morning and I rechecked all of the IR routing in the software.

I haven't done anything that size, but I scratched my head for a few hours after testing IR through a T4. Turns out I had to re-download both the T4 (even though I had made NO changes to the programming at all) and the RP-6 to get them to talk together again.

Sounds basic, but it might be worth a shot to just shoot the programming into all the pieces again. Maybe something is internally out of sync...

Just my 2 cents...

Like mentioned above, every once in a while a device does not need to be updated, but it will not work until you do. I know this from fist hand experience...
When good enough is not good enough.

1. Re-update everything. When I make changes, I will update everything in system like Jim said.

2. Make sure you have the 16 volt power supply for the CB4. Do you have more than one keypad? If not, why the CB4? Just one more place to potentially have issues. Run the K4 directly to expansion port and power the rp6 with 16 volt power supply.

The rest of it looks good. If neither of these things work, we will need more info about what is happening on the first rp6 when you try to control these devices. Does the status light blink? Do the ports blink?

Since you have the power connected from the RP6 to the MSU480 can I assume that you are not using the Niles power supply? If you are, you need to disconnect the 12 volt feed between them.

It is true that sometimes (a few more times lately with ID) that you are not prompted for download when it is needed. If you changed the IR routing on one of the devices, ran the IR code search and replace OR accidentally loaded the wrong RP6, it is possible that you will need to redownload to all devices even if it is not calling to do so.
