Anyone have trouble doing this? I have an IR blaster (Elan) wired into the high output on an RP-6 and mounted in the ceiling above a GrafikEye (temporarily til our IR interface comes in...)

Now, I know the IR codes work. I can test them out of the T4 and they work fine from far away. However, coming out of the IR blaster, I have to literally touch the blaster to the IR sensor on the GrafikEye for it to work.

I also tried putting the blaster on one of the IR ports on the RP-6 and cranking the output level all the way up and got pretty much the same response.

I actually had 2 emittors connected to the high out at one time and it worked for about six months.
It stopped working and I called RTI Tech support. They told me the high out is to be connected to a connecting block. They where actually surprised it worked for me as long as it did.

I had a similar issue: get an IR block with a blaster output and it will work fine

I believe I had it hooked up that way at one point. I'm a little fuzzy on it right now. I think I had the high out going into an IR hub, then the IR blaster plugged into an output on the hub, with the dip switch set to BLASTER. But I can't really remember at this point.

I'll probably just wait for the GrafikEye IR interface to show up.

Thanks for the info!
