So as I try to grow I see more and more areas where I think that I could be doing something better. So I'm now trying to see if there is a "better" way of integrating RTI and B&K. I try to do all RTI keypads and remotes but occasionally I get the client that does not want to spend the money on the K2 or K3 and wants CK1.2s instead. In those cases I'm just using a 3.5mm to 3.5mm mono patch cord to go from the RP6 to the B&K. I'm practicing using RS232 as I'm not comfortable with RS232 yet. So I have a couple questions.

1. Is there a way to integrate the system where commands from the B&K keypads run through the RP6/XP8 in order to use the RTI's flag status, like using a trigger code to launch the macro from the RTI control?

2. If I have two CT600s and two HD6s can I use just one RS232 hookup from the RTI control when the B&Ks are linked?

I really appreciate any help. I just want to get better and it's great having the support from a tight knit community like we are.
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

2. Yes you can, but several have recommended separate rs232 connections due to problems with ct locking up.

I always use a separate RS-232 ports with B&K, with both Crestron and RTI. I just feel more comfortable doing this. Even via IR I use separate ports, adds to the cost a bit sometimes. But if it adds to the consistency it is an easy sale and referral...

The B&K protocol can be a bit daunting at first...but it ROCKS once you get on to it.

Use the Hardware Quick Tools software. Its an excellent way to test your commands in the "lab"

I ALWAYS use a separate RS232 connection to each B&K piece.

I NEVER use the B&K keypads

Use RK1, RK2, RK3, K4, or an RTI remote, and it works beautiful.
...couple a thumb tacks and a stick of double sided tape should hold this baby up...

We almost always use just RTI for control of B&K. I have about 25 full systems under my belt including one with 6 CT600's and 4 HD6's.

Can you use the XP8'x rs232 ports and go directly to the RS232 input on the B&K? I really want to start using RS232 more.
