I have started programming with RTI for just the past few months.I am noticing a lag on the cursor when the guide is brought up with Comcast cable boxes.I have tried database codes and codes learned in with IR-Pro.I have tried with RP-1 and without, but it doesnt seem to matter. You bring up the on-screen Guide and you hit cursor and you cant just consecutively hit cursor button like with the Comcast remote, you have to time it almost .5 to .75 second between hits.I have seen this problem with T-3 and T2C (The only remotes Ive programmed so far).I cant imagine this is the way it is supposed to be.Your help is appreciated.
Thanks

What happens when you just hold the cursor button down in the guide? Does it scan, just do the code once, or does it have a delay?

When I hold button down it scans. When you hit any of the cursor buttons, it works fine the first time, when you hit it cosecutively is when the problem occurs, being that you must time the button hits with an annoying delay between hits.

You can try putting the cursor commands into a macro, right click on the command in the macro, edit step, and uncheck "Delay for 0.3 seconds after this code"

that's also something that has annoyed me about RTI as well. cursoring through a menu is very slow with comcast dvr boxes. i think it is just the remote and how it sends its commands via the number buttons. not sure what to do about this either, but jim brings up a good point...anybody else have another solution?

I put a clean code set in the Mega list for the motorola boxes that fires quickly and reliably. Motorola>>Cable box>> DCTxxxx (clean).

First rule...

Do not judge any control system based on the functionality of particular IR codes especially those that have been learned. IR was developed as a wireless consumer solution and has been adapted as the ubiquitous solution. I would not call it user friendly or robust in the overall scheme of things.

Could you e-mail me the codes you have used. In my master list I have no DCTxxxx but several DCT####. Does yours have actual x's or is it one of the numbered ones, and if not I would love an e-mail to wildulmer at gmail dot com

The Mega List will give you more codes than the RTI master file will, The master file has lots of duplicate codes for many devices, the Mega List weeded out alot of the repeats, and added more codes for alot of devices. I have started collecting codes for the next release of the Mega List but it wont be out for some time as more are needed to make it worth the effort
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
