What do you like/dislike about the upper end models? I
have been Selling/Installing Marantz for 5 yrs. Not too
fond of the 5002 HDMI snafu's. Having to fart around w/
Multiroom Tuner presets by switching main zone to tuner
for control defeats the purpose of MR.
Not to answer the question about the Onkyo stuff...
With the Marantz... you can change the settings of the tuner from multiroom. I do it all the time.
The issue is this. If the multi and the main are both on the same band of tuner (i.e FM, AM, XM) Then the main owns it. The second can not change settings on the same tuner. But if one is on FM then the other can control AM or XM.
So.
If the Theater is listening to a DVD.
Zone 2 can be on tuner. AM FM or XM and Have contol of the tuner to direct enter channels like:
"Direct"
"1"
"0"
"1"
"1" to tune FM freq 101.1FM
There are also direct frequnce IR codes for XM in the EXCEL sheet.
