Has anyone successfully created a rs-232 library for Lexicon product? I tried controlling an MC-8 through Hyperterminal but could not figure out the command strings. I had some sort of communication from the processor so I think settings were correct.

I have programmed an RV-8 and it worked great but have yeat to make a file. I used the documentation that is on Lexicons web site. A sample command is

Volume up = F1 04 39 01 17 F2

This is in hex mode.

I got all the MC-12 Main Inputs working but the Volume up and down commands are not working right: using

Volume up = F1 04 39 01 17 F2

the volume only goes up one step per press: and no series of repeats,, repeat while button is held or sustains helps (unless I want to ramp it all the way up or down)

the IR commands work properly: ramp up/down as long as I hold the button

T4/XP-8

any ideas?

I do it on the RV-8 by checking the sustain button and a .2 second delay between repeats and it works fine.

tried that: no joy

I don't have a lot of experience with RS232 but it seems like the command has a stop built into it?

went back to IR control of volume and it works fine

So, provided RS232 command works once but does not sustain? Have you tried a slightly longer or shorter delay to see what happens.

You have to use the repeat steps command to get a decent volume up down using RS232
