I ran into this strange issue today with a small RTI system ( T-4 and a single RP 1)

I swapped out a defective Pioneer DVD player for a new Marantz player. I changed all of the DVD ir codes in the program. then loaded them into the T-4 and RP 1 . Tested the remote and nothing worked. The rp1 is not responding to the rf commands.

I then delete the rp1 1 from the program and try IR only and it works perfect. Then I add the rp1 to the program and its not working again. I the notices that if the rp1 antenna is a couple of inch's away from the t4 it works. This system was working with out any flaws before today's download We are using touch screen designer version 5.10.

Thanks Zinon

Did you unplug the USB cable from the RP1?

are you powering directly to the rp1 or the connecting block. If it didn't work close to the antenna i would say your new upload wasn't with the default in RF trigger codes.

i say you have the remote not send rf and ir only
Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

Make sure the remote isn't in standalone mode!
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

Ed

It is in rf mode.It will send rf only a few inch. I brought the rp1 back with me and I will swap it out with the one in my house and see if it is defective.

The weird part is that the change in DVD players brought it about.

I had my own T4 work like the one you described - works within 2 feet of the RP1. The M2 downstairs works fine, so I don't suspect the RP1 at all. Just got it back from RTI and haven't tried it yet.

I have gotten goofed up with adding an RP1 after the fact (set up at first with no processor) for no apparent reason. Setting default/RF trigger codes, yet if I check properties on some device buttons, they are still standalone.

By testing at home, you may have determined the problem already.

You could carry one of your other remotes to the jobsite to test the RP1 there.

Just for grins, check the properties on some of those buttons.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Update,
It was a defective RP-1
This is strange because it was working perfectly until I downloaded the new program to it.
Thanks Zinon

I had a bad RK1 a few weeks back...

Apropos of absolutely nothing, did you know that if you reverse the signal and ground wires for the rj-45 connector in the RK1 that the unit will power up and program like normal, but will not output any IR when hooked up, even if you realize your mistake later and fix the connector pin outs...
