Any recomendation on web pages to help show the value of the browser of a T4 remote?
Weather.com is a nice touch....but does one have any sites that help show off the web side of a T4 (not counting web cam's)?
Thanks!

I use weather.com, and snow.com (for out local snow report), and CNN, as hot buttons on the T4/K4

Anyone find any other cool sites? I was thinking about trying to do a stock ticker.
I like the idea of the "widgets" that you can download form ESPN.com and others. I just don't have a clue how to implement one.

I hate to say it, but I also don't have any good sites to goto!
Well, it's been a while since I had my hand on one of those, the last time I really played with some T4's, was during a large office system w/multiple conf. rooms. The internet was not a big concern of theirs.
However, I will be getting my hands on one soon for a new single stage install. I am really going to play with this one and the net, since flash design is something I like to do during off hours.

Be careful and test any site extensively before showing it to a client.

I try to stay as far away from the internet on those pieces. It is a horrible browser and will cause nothing but problems in the future. It is slow as all hell and cumbersum to say the least.

Don't read my answer. Someone else will go into great detail as to why I am wrong rather than answer the original question... |

agreed, the last time I saw it, I was not impressed and it did not even have the flash firmware upgrade.
There must be some value for the wifi internet, although I agree that even if the browser was more reliable or stable, 802.11b is a very poor feature!
I really hope there is a way to change that to 802.11g/n in the future.

RTI uses a Palm Wifi Card and I'd bet that when a wireless g one come out it will be an easy swap. I'm going to take one apart and see if it's an SDIO card. If it is then there are companies out that make a wireless g version and there might even be n versions out.

Guys, thanks for discussing this issue of showing the value of the web browser!
I glad to see that alot of other installer see what I saw (it's kind of a dangerous feature, because you need to play it down as not to get the customer too fired up by it). I can see it now....if you tell a customer that it has a web browser....the'll anticpate a full web tablet to carry around the house. It seems very limited right now.
GUYS WITH WEB CAM'S OUT THERE ON T-4'S...........GETTING GOOD FEEDBACK IN THE FIELD FROM SELLING THAT FEATURE BASED ON CUSTOMER RESPONCE?????????
Thanks for everyones opinions.........

I prepared a video on my computer showing off varous remotes and their functions, the T4 being one of them. Since it was rehearsed and I could do takes, I was able to show lightening fast web results :) - as if that were always the case. Also prepared some screen shot pictures in a portfolio.
