Is anybody controlling the HR21 via RS-232 successfully? I'm wondering if the response of the receiver to a RS-232 command would be faster that the IR which is IMHO really slow. I think that the processor in the HR21 is slower than the one in the HR20. I did a side by side comparison regarding signal test and the HR20 finished the test way faster than the HR21. When I send a channel change command to the HR21 at home, it takes some time to do the change from one channel to the other. It could be something related to the DVR itself.
I'm always right. The only time I was wrong was the time that I thought, that I was wrong.

Channel change is about the DVR buffer. But as for the IR processing. The H21s double on T2Cs when I have sustain or repeat. Same code sent from a different remote... no problems

Odd???

Have you tried the clean codes that I added to mega 15 yet? They fire great... with a T3.

I haven't used a HR21 yet, but on the 20 I've read that the resolutions you have selected and whether Native is on or off has an effect on the speed of channel changing. Maybe something to check?
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

I just did a system with two HR21's controlled via serial. Works fine, same protocol as the HR20. I agree that it seems a bit slower, especially the guide and list commands. It seems that the HR21 is behind the HR20 in firmware updates as well. There are some features (hide SD duplicates) that are available on the HR20 via new fw that the HR21 doesn't yet have, at least on the west coast.
