I am creating written instructions(for a T2C) per a customer's request. I want to insert the color bitmap on the Word Document so they know what button to press on thier T2C.

Anybody know of a way to get RTI's color bitmaps out of TTD. Does this require graphic software that will cost me some coin?

The default graphic files are embedded into Theater Touch program and don't exist in a separate folder. If you right click on a button and copy it, then try to paste it into a graphic editor program, they no longer have the transparent background, those areas now have black for the background color; however there are programs you can use to extract the graphics, google it.

I think it would be easier to just launch the emulator, right click the emulator screen copy and paste the entire screen shot and write the instructions or notations for each button.

Thanks guys, I've never tried copying from the emulator. I figured I would have to go buy $300 software.

It works like a charm and dosen't cost me a penny!

Take an original hi-res photo of the remote (available @ RTI dealer site), select your area & crop away! You can even do this with MS paint.

Yeah I thought that might be my only option, I was hoping for something a little faster/easier.

It's very easy. We do it for our customers, especially those who only have seasonal homes or are elderly, all the time. Go to preview mode on the TheatTouch program. Then, right click on the screen and select "copy screenshot". Then paste it right onto Microsoft Word. You'll need to do that for each page. What I like to do is list all of the page icons under the screenshot for that particular screen and write what each button does. (i.e. List: Press this button to show the list of programs you've previously recorded on the DVR.).

For the hard keys I get a high-res photo of the entire remote off RTI's website then insert arrows pointing to each of the hard buttons and label what each button does. This way you can point to things such as the "charging" light indicator and explain when the light should turn on/off, etc.

I save each of my manuals so it's easy to open up a manual I've already created and change just the things that are differnet for each customer.

If you're still having trouble I can forward you a copy of one of the T3 manuals I've done. It works the exact same for a T2C.

Turd, I would love to see your sheets. What program do you create your sheets in?

I used Microsoft Word. Check your email and let me know if you didn't get it. I sent a T2+ and T3 example.
