We are working on a new project. Installing a custom theater and want to use RTI for the control.

Customer has an exsiting camera system. Hidden (wall mounted PIR sensor) non-ip cameras. Connected to a Tempest 8000 DVR. There may be issues with the DVR not working so it is possible this may be replaced.

Our original plan was to use a T4 for control of the home theater. Then customer mentioned that they want to be able to view security cameras in the theater room of yong kids watching upstairs. Cameras are new to use and we have only used Panny IP cammeras perviously.

From the Tempest specs I think you need an active x control for the web based viewing so that throws that out the window on the T4 (Not to mention it will be slow). The tempest has IR control and VGA and composite out. Remembered that there was supposed to be the EM4 module for the T4 to hookup composit video but not sure that this was ever released. This way he could view the video with it docked in cradle in the main chair.

Are there any other options? I know you can do this on the K4 but that needs to be wall mounted. I could looki into another DVR server as well if that would make things work on the T4.

I'd look at another DVR server that might play nicer with the T4. I'm sure that someone has hooked one up that plays nice with the T4.
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

Also at the training I went to a few ppl mentioned that panasonic makes a box that takes a video and converts it to a motion jpeg and serves it on the network. so then you can view it on the T4 web browser.

I had a client who wanted his nursery camera in his cinema room, we hooked it up as PIP on his Panasonic 65" plasma and he is very happy. Does your client need it on the T4 screen or could you run it up onto the screen?

In the past we've just modulated the camera signals to higher channels. ie 121 the next at 123 and so on. Then placed buttons on a "camera" screen with macros to the individual channels. The tv tuner works fine. you can get 10 or 11 cams easily this way.
Just locate the modulators at the dvr location, T into the cam inputs and send an rg 59 or 6 from the modulators to the tv. Some DVRs even have loop through. This way there's no network lag and the kids can be viewed with the tv.
