Are the M2's still eating batteries like crazy? The last thread said that it was at 2 weeks between battery changes...

Even if you "sell" the customer rechargable batteries and a charger, changing the batteries that often would become annoying and reflect poorly on me/equipement used.

Thanks.

The last couple that I have done are still battery hogs (about 1 month between changes). I am now using this knowledge to "strongly recommend" a one step upgrade to the T2+. The strategy seems to work pretty well.

I put one in my office like an idiot and it stopped working after 3 weeks. The damn thing is frozen and there is no way to wake it up. When I plug it into any laptop and PC it is USB not recognized. RTI should scrap this line. I keypad would probably be better.

Yes, still a battery hog. My third (or is it forth?) replacement from RTI still goes through batteries in about 2-3 weeks. And I have the backlight on manual, as they suggested, with a 10 second timeout.

Problem is, in a somewhat darkened room (evening), even with the soft light from a table lamp, the LCD screen is basically unreadable without the backlight, so I'm constantly turning it on, which in turn is killing the batteries.

If and when the T2-Cs comes out, I think that will be the new entry level remote for living room settings. At least this is supposed to have a charging station.

dinom,

If you are offering an M2 as the entry level today, the T2Cs might be a big jump.... Have you tried the T2+? It is also rechargeable.
