Have any of you experience a problem with the WII and RP1.. Installed Oct 07 wo/WII working fine until WII entered the equation... I now have to be right on top of the RP1 to get the RF to work... Have any one experience this problem, and if you have what did you do to rectify the problem. What I did is unplugged the WII.. but thats not always an options if they are using it through the system.. Any help greatly appreciated..

I have used an RP-1 on several installed systems w/wii in some cases less than 6" apart and never had a problem; and we get great coverage.

Thanks for your reply... Have you ever had a bad RP1... This is a head scratcher as it was working perfect until the WII

When I called support they said that it had never been tested with the WII, for interference.

Hopefully someone will chime in and shed some light...

Would it take you more than 2 minutes to stick another RP1 in there to test?

I have an RP1 at home w/ a T1 and just got a Wii, in it's current position the Wii is no more then two feet from the RP1. I haven't noticed any issues with it.

I have a wii mounted 12 inches from and RM433 antenna connected to and rp-6 with no trouble. These devices dont even operate at frequencys close to each other. All I can think is that the wii sensor bar is constantly spiting out stereo scopic IR, maybe that is interfering with your setup some how

No problem with the Wii and a RM433. They are 3.5 feet away. The RP6 sits about 1 foot away. Maybe the problem is with the Wii’s wireless card. I have mine on the network and still do not have problems. Something to look into.
I'll let you know tomorrow..

I have a couple successfull Wii and RP-1 combinations. I would swap out equipment first. I am seeing a much higher than I like failure rate with RTI stuff right. It seems like they have everything going into the freakin XP-8 and they are forgetting about current equipment.

Never had any problems with Wii's causing issues with RTI products. I have one RP1 that 's antennae is almost right on a Wii and I have no issues with it. I have had a problem with a URC MRF250 and a Wii. Once I moved the URC antennae it worked perfectly.
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

This would be my suggestion too.

Have done a bunch of wii setups with RM433/RP6s and two with RP1s and no issues either. try disconnecting the wii and see if that fixes it. then you'll know if its the rp1 or not without getting another one.

Try a new RP1 first. Ive had four returned (in two years mind you) by request of RTI for a known "issue" They will ask for the serial or production number to confirm this ( I dont have the serial numbers to watch out for anymore) but RTI informed me they should all have been returned ny now for replacements. Have yours checked.

Try putting IR blinders over your emitters so that only the IR from the emitters is getting to the individual components

I have been having rp1 issues too as of late. Swap them out with other units and the issue is gone. RMA the old one and move on.

I always think that it's me with product failure, I mean I don't even call tech support anymore. Well last week for the first time in about a year I did call, T2+ with RP-6/RM 433 installed about 5 months ago working fine then very erratic operation (red light alternating green etc) for the RF. Called and they said it can't be the RP-6 because these are rock solid, there has to be local interference (heard that BS before 2 years ago).

Took out the RP-6 and RM-433 and merged RP-6 macros over to the RP-1 (didn't need the routing functions of the RP-6 because of the multiple codes sets for the new Directv boxes) and system worked flawlessly again. Or the customer hasn't called again.

BTW, I did have a job in which the WII caused major interference to an RP-1/ T2+ system around 14 months ago, solution was to power off the WII to use the system.
