Hi All,

What firmware version is required to have the page history (don't put in page history) checkbox function? I have tried this on a T2-C but it always seems to put my wait page in history..unless I just do not understand how it is supposed to work? I first assumed that you would uncheck the box in the properties for the wait page link. Then I decided that they used the word source, so I changed it so that the page after the wait page had the box unchecked...so that didn't seem to work either, so I checked the firmware and it's 1.0. bootloader 1.4. Is this my problem or am I barking up the wrong tree? Any examples out there of a functioning wait page perhaps?

The page history check box options on the T2C are not active. I got this direct from RTI. I had a system working perfectly using this feature on T3's, and adapted it to some T2C's, but couldn't get it working right. That's why.
I managed to get around it with flags.

They said it wasn't important enought to warrant a firmware update, and couldn't say when one was expected.

"...wasn't important enough...."

I can not count the times that customers have called me for a service visit because they have waited like sheep on the please wait screen and thought that the remote was broken. Seems important enough to me if you want to provide top notch remote solutions.

This is one reason I do mostly T3s.

Can someone expand on this for me? Not sure what this does?

When you add a page link in a standalone macro there is a checkbox in the page selection window (before you drag it in) and a checkbox available when you double click an already inserted page in which you can save the page history or ignore the page history.

When you save page history, the previous page will be appear when you press the "previous" (back) button (an option from the page link menu). If you do not save the page history, the previous page will not appear.

The application is this... When you jump to a "please wait" screen before you execute a macro (and then finally jump to the control screen at the end of a macro), you do not want the "please wait" screen to appear again if you press the "previous page" button. This saves alot of confusion.

The non-intuitive thing here is that you need to clear the checkbox for the page link that follows the page you do not want to appear. You actually want the "please wait" screen to retain its page link memory because if you ever get stuck on it (for what ever reason) you will be taken back to your home screen or from wherever you had come).

I do this for multizone shutdown macros... If I shutdown an activity in one zone the macro will link to a "shutting down zone x" page and then flag test all other zones to see if they are on and what the source is. If a particular source is selected in another zone, a page link will take you to that device page. If all other zones are off, it will take you to a "Goodby" screen before linking to an intro screen. If you did not clear the page history in all of the links except the very first one, the "Goodbye" and "Shutting Down Zone x" screens would pop back up if the "previous" button was pressed. This is very confusing to the "push first and think later" clientel.

When you use the "Previous" page navigation command, it uses a page history to know where to go next. It's possible ??? to prevent certain pages from being stored in the page history.

My use is for pages that are jumped to for adjustments to picture or sound, and then back to the original device page. The adjustment pages are excluded from the history, then a previous page command takes the user back to where they were.

Completely ridiculous they would omit this feature from the T2-C. That is the #1 seller for me. Terrible.

Whenever I needed to pagelink to the "adjustment" pages, I ran a macro that set and cleared the appropriate flags, so that when "return" was pressed another macro would link back to the correct page.

The "Sound" macro looked like this:

Set Flag: Cable Page
Clear Flag: DVD Page
Clear Flag: Library Page
Clear Flag: Radio Page
Change to page: Audio Adjust 1

And the "Return" macro looked like this

If flag Cable Page is set then
Change to page: Cable 1
ELSE
If flag DVD Page is set then
Change to page: DVD 1
ELSE
If flag Library Page is set then
Change to page: Escient 1
ELSE
If flag Radio Page is set then
Change to page: FM Radio
ELSE

Hope this helps.

Yeah... real well. I go again for a second round. I may not be haunting the RTI forum much after a while.

Great, except for the fact you won't be around here as much. They don't use RTI?

They are actually doing some RTI but they are heavily invested in Crestron and URC. They are taking a look at my RTI GUI work and experience with controlling crestron but I get a feeling they are looking for me to do other duties (PM, sales-design???? I guess I will find out today).
