Anyone out there have a system file with an RP6 already loaded up with Marantz AVR RS232 codes? Just being lazy and not wanting to have to type it all out.

Thanks!

Use an IR direct Input and save the $75 and the time typing. IR input via a Direct IR wire $2.

Yes I have a file, but honestly, Springs is correct. I was surprised at the IR depth of the Marantz codes, including all discretes and direct setting of volume level (which is why I originally went with RS-232 for an SR8002). Wish I had checked Marantz's IR remote codes prior.

In any event, the next RS232 device I get, the CM232 comes off the Marantz and on that device.

David,
Where did you find the IR codes for the 8002? I did not locate on the mega list.

Most IR codes are available but sometimes you may still need RS232. For example the new SR7002 has HDMI out 1 and 2 but no IR codes are given, however RS232 codes are available.

The SR7002 can send audio and video to 2 monitors but not at the same time. The client can now watch all his video sources from the main room in his bedroom via HDMI and utilizing the RS232 code "HDMI OUT CH2".

Also when sending an HDMI signal to the mst bdrm TV, the "HDMI Audio Mode" should be set to "THROUGH" so that it can receive audio.

The SR8002 is different it can be used as a matrix switch for 2 simultaneous monitors.

Something for you to think about....use IR codes so that you don't have to type them all out, then use RS232 when IR codes are not available.

By using this combo you will also have discreets that are not available with RS232.

The new 6.0 software has all the codes, pretty cool. Just watch out, you may run into a bug that prevents you from finishing your project.

Srings, as it turned out I went back to the SR7002 and found the HDMI Out Ch 1 & 2 to have discreet IR. It was not documented correctly on the spreadsheet from the Marantz website.

So far no RS232 had to be used for the current project. When the XP8 with 2-way start shipping out, that will be a different story.
