Does anyone have any tips for getting page up/down commands onto hard buttons through either press & hold or double-tap?

I tried press & hold on the up/down directional buttons but I think the macro made the button too slow to respond. The idea was you could hit 'down' once at a time to scroll down, but if you held it it would page down (& repeat the page down command until you released). Seemed simple enough in theory, but I just couldn't get it the way I wanted.

By the way, I'm new to RTI and this was on a standalone M2.

Thanks!
jim

I always have a row of small buttons at the bottom of the screen that have page commands much like the Prontos had.

Yeah, I'm probably over-complicating it.

I'm just a stickler for the page up/down hard buttons when looking for a new remote.

I read where someone used a flag to mark when 'guide' or 'list' (etc) was pressed and that switched the channel up/down to page up/down. I like that idea (mainly because it's over-complicated...) but I can't imagine how you would clear the flag. You wouldn't know when the guide/list/etc screen was exited. Right?

Thanks for the help

Set and clear the flag manually.
Create a button that uses a macro to switch the flag from its previous state. If you're using a touchscreen you could make the button "invert" or change color to show its current state, sort of a reminder that its not in "normal" mode.

Here's an example macro:
If flag [001] Page is set then
Clear Flag: [001] Page
Change to page: [4] Cable1
ELSE
Set Flag: [001] Page
Change to page: [5] Cable2

The macro on the Channel Up button:
If flag [001] Page is set then
Motorola / Cable Box / Page Up
ELSE
Motorola / Cable Box / Channel Up
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

Interesting...

Seems like it would be confusing to explain to a customer. I'll play with that example and see how it goes.

Thanks!
